garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=65299After I saw the gamemode and tried it for the first time, the maps that I went on were really basic. They were all the same texture, no lighting and no skybox. Some of the maps I've seen in this thread look pretty good though, I may have just caught the bad end of the cycle. Anyway, I decided to work on a map, I've been working for about 5-6 hours now and this is what I have. I'm thinking of having a background story for the map, like it was an old industrialized society that died off. A group of more advanced beings crashed on it and started to upgrade it with their own technology. They had disagreements about how to run this new place so they went to war. There is a crash landing zone (not a great one) where you spawn. Questions, comments, and constructive criticism is welcomed, some textures are just placeholders and there is still some brushwork, light editing etc. to be done. Basically, it is a WIP so if you see something other than the above listed that should be changed, post it. I do plan to put props in the variants, each time the map is loaded the props/trees will all be mixed around to give a different experience each time.

Definitely a good idea keeping a lot of props and stuff out of the map itself.
One thing I will say about this map is that it is very similar in design to the new wm_island (which isn't a bad thing since we need six player maps). However, this map forces chokepoints so extremely hard that I feel the actual gameplay would be very similar to many other maps.
I think if you opened up each base with another tunnel to adjacent bases that the "Spokes on a wheel" design would be more unique and better for gameplay.
I can also guarantee that if the outside grass areas in that first screenshot aren't turned to sky, many minges will build there or try pulling other stupid shit.

The outside grass area is already part of the 3d skybox, and I can just see minges trying to spawn things down there thinking "WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING T_T" The spokes idea is good and I will widen out the choke points some, the ones from base to base will be tight like the current ones are.

Update, added the "spokes to the wheel" increased the size of the openings towards the middle and started to add some more detail to the pillars.

Another update, changed lighting and created a light to go around the map. I also changed where the ground in the 3d skybox was to be higher up. Detail has been added to the walls, I'll texture them later.

Nice!! I like this one most of all because of the blue collored darkness!

Maps has been finished, link garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=65299 . I know the textures aren't great but I tried about 20 different others and these looked the best, if I make a V2 textures will be improved. If I make a V2 there will be a lot more detail added too.
