most of these maps wil force players to think more about attacks because most the time players leave there base undefended because they can see the attackers comeing but if you can't see them and know they will come it will have more heavaly defended bases

Lighting is one of the least important parts in determining whether a map is good for WarMelons. If a map is good for gameplay it doesn't matter if it's dark. I know megastruct's night version has always been considered, but the map is extremely asymmetrical and is very hard to make a good variant for. It is pretty fun to make scenarios on though.

Dark maps such as dark flatgrass can prove to be very handy say like making a survival gm where players must stand their ground against a series of AI attacks.

like having a nurtral melon base in the center of the map that sends war melons and some contraptions at players at random? this would make things very intresting
i like dark amps because you have to have light to see the enemy attacking you and from witch way so you have to think about lighting your base if the lamps coust nrg and there were dark maps war melons would be way cool at least to me and probably some other players
