Trying to create rolling hills and natural terrain by hand is very time consuming. I know there are packs out there for brushes and displacements that can make save you a lot of time. If anyone knows of any great downloads to help out please post them here. Another alternative for trying to do things like this by hand is to use another program to do the terrain for you. Considering that a lot of WM maps consist mainly of just terrain, this can speed up your map creation immensely. This is one of the best tools you could ever use for that: nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=8

To be honest, I prefer playing wm on plain ground. Maybe some slopes, but with real terrain its a real pain in the ass when your melon gets blinded by going into a small "hole" and then fired upon without being able to fire back.

There's nothing that stops you from having perfectly smooth terrain using these generators.

I actually don't even know how fire night. It doesn't use standard texture files so how do you do it without converting everything to jpg or tga?

I think you make the map, then texture it in hammer, then move it back to Terrain Generator, but how do you remove those little 2d grass things? the first time I textured the map, I had so many little 2d grass thingies, that the game was unable to play.

The way that the terrain generator works is that you create a custom terrain in the generator, and then you export it into the Hammer editor (exporting and loading the map in the editor). Once the map is in Hammer, you can add features, change textures, etc. But, once it is in there, it cannot be transferred back, and any terrain changing must be done in the Hammer editor from that point on. So basically you should use the Terrain Generator to make the landscape, and then make any small changes in the Hammer editor.
